Your doctor has requested that an ultrasound exam be performed.
An ultrasound machine produces a picture of your body using sound waves. A blunt device called a probe is placed on your skin.
- There is no preparation for this exam.
- This exam takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
- The parent should bring extra diapers, a change of clothes and a bottle of formula.
- Report to Radiology approximately 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time if you are not contacted by the Admitting Office.
